Best Red Dot for Glock 19, Sig P365 and S&W Shield
Buyer's guide
The right red dot for the gun you carry
Glock 19, Sig P365 and S&W Shield are three of the most popular pistols in America. Here is what fits each one and what we would pick.
| Pistol | Common footprint | Mount method | Good picks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Glock 19 MOS | RMR (via MOS plate), Glock MOS-specific | MOS adapter plate or direct-fit optic | Trijicon RMR / SRO, Holosun 507C, Holosun SCS MOS |
| Glock 19 (non-MOS) | Your choice | Slide cut | Any footprint we can mill for |
| Sig P365 / X / XL (optics ready) | RMSc / Holosun K | Direct mount; some optics need a plate | Holosun 507K, EPS Carry, SCS Carry |
| S&W Shield Plus OR | RMSc / Holosun K | Direct mount | Holosun 507K, EPS Carry |
Glock 19
Glock MOS pistols use adapter plates. An RMR-footprint dot on the right plate is the most common setup. Holosun's SCS MOS mounts straight to the MOS cut without a plate. Want the dot lower? We can mill a non-MOS slide.
Sig P365 family
Optics-ready P365 slides take small RMSc / K-pattern dots. An enclosed emitter like the EPS Carry keeps lint from blocking the LED, a real issue on a carry gun.
S&W Shield
The optics-ready Shield Plus uses the same small pattern. Older non-OR Shields can be milled.
Carry gun tip
Pick a 2 to 6 MOA dot that is easy to find fast, and a holster cut for an optic.
Duty gun tip
An enclosed emitter and suppressor-height irons give you a backup if the dot fails.
Key takeaways
- Glock 19 MOS: RMR-footprint dot on a plate, or a direct-fit MOS optic.
- P365 and Shield Plus: small RMSc / K-footprint dots.
- Not optics ready? A slide cut opens up every option.
